Lesser Magic is the magical manipulation of a situation without means of ritual. Instead, It is more about aesthetic, body language, and manner of speaking.
Lesser Magic, as opposed to Greater Magic, is applied in the view of others around the Satanic Witch, Warlock, or Sorcerer. It’s in plain sight, though most often, the regular folk would never know to call it magical. Rather, they would be inclined to just follow the will of the Satanic practitioner and go with what is being “magicked” for.
However, Lesser Magic can be accompanied with works of Greater Magic (and vice versa) to achieve a desired goal. They need not be mutually exclusive all of the time.
For a successful working of Lesser Magic let’s look at some components that can be used to ensure the best possible outcomes:
The first step at applying Lesser Magic is for the Magician to recognize their intention. What is desired? What is the goal? Once the intention is set, the Magician is ready to apply the components of Lesser Magic.
These components vary based on each and every situation. What works under one circumstance may not be the best route of action to take for another. The Magician must understand this and always make sure to know their audience and their “soft spots”. Since it is so situational, Lesser Magic requires that the Magician be light on their feet and ready to use what tools are available around them to their success. Though some thought may be of value if put in ahead of time, unless the situation is unexpected. In the case of a bar fight, or perhaps a squabble with friends, the Magician needs to know how to handle the situation, by either breaking it up or pointing the hostile energy in another direction.
A well-practiced Magician utilizes specific modes of dress, makeup, hairstyling, and scents to bring about their desire.
Make sure that what you’re wearing is sending the message you’re wanting others to receive. With fashion, you can say so much without opening your mouth.
If you’re trying to manipulate someone into doing something for you then wear something that will persuade them into doing whatever you ask.
Wearing scents can draw people’s attention to you. Make sure not to wear too much, as this can damage the effectiveness of Lesser Magic.
Your chosen outfit should make you feel powerful. You’re a magician, and your outfit needs to make you feel like it. However, not every case is handled under the same sort of power. Your outfit needs to be assuring that you are going to get what you want, not that you can dominate everything. Sometimes, the most powerful manipulation is pulling on someone’s heart strings and sense of sympathy.
A talented Magician knows how and when to move their body at the right time in order to sway a situation in their favor.
Being mindful of one’s own facial expressions is a talent every Magician should have, if they are to reach success. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a facial expression is worth just as many, if not more.
Walking with your head up and back straight indicate confidence and authority. When one walks like this, they are saying they are comfortable with themselves and know their own power. The way one walks tells a lot about them, so be sure to be self-aware and convey the message in your walk.
Much like the way one walks, the manner in which one sits can also be a potent indicator of personal power. For example: if one is trying to appear intellectual and knowledgeably resourceful, they may sit with their legs crossed and with one hand resting on top of the other while holding eye contact with whomever they are speaking with.
Gestures can send a powerful message when attention to them is paid. Use your hands to help tell the story or convey the message you’re attempting to send.
When using Lesser Magic, a Magician must know their audience and how to manipulate the situation into their favor with their words.
Making incredulous claims and statements will nullify any sort of attempt at Lesser Magic, especially if the audience knows the subject at hand better than you do. It’s always beneficial to know exactly what you’re talking about. In an argument, emotions and opinions almost never carry as much weight as fact, unless the target is especially sentimental.
The base knowledge of the content is of extreme importance, but don’t rely solely on it. The presentation matters greatly. Sounding smart isn’t the same as being smart, but it can be easily mistaken for such, and vice versa. Use words that you know will enhance your intelligence (or ignorance) appeal to the audience.
Is sarcasm or sincerity present in your speech? This is important, as you won’t achieve much from someone by being hostile, unless angering them is the goal, in which case, hostility is key.
When all of these components are combined, a working of Lesser Magic can reap a bountiful reward. It takes real work, analytical skill, and patience to be able to pull off a successful Lesser Magic application. Without those, there’s no hope for the magic to make manifest, and the power is in the hands of external parties.
But, don’t be discouraged. If you’re new to the concept, try it on people you already know. Keep practicing and begin to use it elsewhere, gradually. Once you have it down, the rewards will speak for themselves.
Many practitioners of Lesser Magic have experienced lovely benefits from exercising these skills. A few talented Magicians have spoken of how this has brought them free food and drinks, movie tickets, and even gasoline, just by applying these techniques!
The power is within you, you just have to be willing to use it, thoughtfully.
